Been trying to talk myself out of betting any of the games this weekend, but been doing pretty decent lately, so why not push my luck. Got a bad feeling about that Saskatchewan vs. Montreal game, plus that spread is really difficult. So definitely staying away from that one. Should be fun to watch, as most Saskatchewan games have been this year.
I really think the Bombers match up well against the Lions. But I don't see this game being tight AND low scoring. I think both teams put up a lot of points. Both Jarious Jackson and Michael Bishop love to air it out... while both defences have been getting torched in the air recently. Winnipeg has had one of the worst pass defences all year, while BC looked shaky last week against Cody Pickett. Winnipeg is putting a bit more emphasis on throwing, so this should be interesting to watch. I see a pick 6 in this game.
Both teams sport solid running games, with Mallett and Reid emerging as two of the better backs in the league. However, both teams are also showing signs of life in terms of stopping the run. This could be an area where whichever team establishes the better run game will have the upper hand in controlling the game. Otherwise, there could be a lot of nickel packages against the pass.
Finally, both teams have good kickers, although not as good as Jason Medlock (who IMO is the next CFL player to get a starting job in the NFL). Put all these together and I don't see how this game stays under the number in the worst, and most offence-friendly stadium in the CFL. Don't know why this number is being bet down, but I will bite on the over for a smaller wager than normal.
